I am currently working on my master thesis project in which I am trying to perform 3D printing by fixing the extruder on a structure and then moving the bed only through a robotic arm. I am using ARDUINO MEGA and RAMPS 1.4 combo as my microcontroller. I have not installed Marlin yet because I am confused. If I install Marlin, will it be able to communicate and get input from Robotic Arm about when to print and how much to print? Or should I try to control the extruder motor, heater and thermistor through Arduino coding only without installing the Marlin.
