Inductive Sensor without Inductive sensor adapter (2 replies)

Hi All,

I have build my 3d printer and want to install also a inductive sensor.

I have the following inductive sensor:
DC 6-36V 300mA NC 3 Wire 2mm Inductive Proximity Sensor Switch LJ12A3-2-Z/AY

Do I really need the inductive sensor adapter ?

or can I use something else do replace this adapter.
